You must be 18 and older to access phone therapy from Parent Help Live. Phone therapy is geared towards parents and the licensed professionals will be communicating solely with the parents. Phone therapy is not appropriate if your child has a severe mental illness or is having suicidal thoughts or homicidal thoughts. Do not delay in seeking professional advice and treatment from your local pro-fessional to best meet your child’s needs at this time. Phone therapy is also not intended as a substitute for medical evaluation, diagnosis or treatment for your child.
Parent Help Live agrees to make every effort to maintain an informative, useful, and safe website for the benefit of its members. Parent Help Live agrees to provide the site with updated information, relevant topics to the parenting field, and collaborate with respected professionals in their supported fields of expertise.
By agreeing to initiate services with Parent Help Live, you understand that the licensed professional providing services is in good standing professionally and has been prescreened by Parent Help Live. Parent Help Live cannot be held responsible for any actions you choose to take in response to expressed or implied communications via e-mail or phone.
An intake counselor reviews your intake form to determine the best match for your family based on your concerns and your time availability. The intake counselor will forward your form to the licensed professional via email in which the counselor stores the data in a confidential locked file, much like a counselor supports confidentiality of their notes in a clinical setting.
Once you have completed the intake form, you can expect a response within 48 hours of your submission. If you submit the form on Friday or a holiday, it may be 72 hours before contact is made by Parent Help Live.
Parent Help Live will not be held responsible in event of technology failure – this is unforeseen and we will make every effort to correct the problem in the quickest fashion possible.
Opinions expressed by instructors or by professionals in phone therapy are solely the professional’s opinions and are not necessarily representative of Parent Help Live as a whole. Parent Help Live reserves the right, at any time, to modify or stop providing any component or feature of the site.
Payment for Services and Cancellation Policy
Parents will agree to the fee upfront for services provided through phone therapy or through the membership site (see getting started tab for rates). Parents utilizing services provided by Parent Help Live are responsible for ensuring complete payment.
You agree that you own the credit card you are using, or have the permission of the credit card holder to do so. Parents understand that online membership is paid automatically once per month unless you notify us via email that you would like to discontinue the membership (pro@parenthelplive.com)
If you have booked a phone therapy session, but did not appear (answer the phone) during the scheduled session, Parent Help Live reserves the right to count the session as complete. Failure to show appointments are the equivalent to an actual appointment meaning you forfeit the sum. Occasionally, circumstances may arise and you may work out a future session with your licensed professional. This may occur when a number of sessions are purchased together (i.e., 6 week package) and continued support is needed. This is not a Parent Help Live policy, but rather up to the individuals that set the appointment.

Interactions with Licensed Professionals
If you choose to interact with a licensed professional through phone therapy or live in classes, your relationship is strictly with the professional and Parent Help Live is not involved in any way with that relationship. Parents also understand the Parent Help Live cannot predict or assess fully a professional’s competence and appropriateness for parent’s needs. Parents also take full responsibility for the decision to access support through the Site and continue to interact with our processionals, and that the role of Parent Help Live is strictly limited to providing access to professionals and their ser-vices.
Success of phone therapy depends upon a variety of factors, not the least of which is the professional relationship between parent and the licensed professional. No professional can or should offer a guarantee of a cure for a particular problem. It sometimes will be necessary to refer parents to another professional if the parent is not sufficiently benefiting from phone therapy services. Parents can change their licensed professional at any time and for any reason.
Currently insurance companies or HMOs are not likely to reimburse or authorize treatment provided for parents, particularly over the phone or online in class. While this may change in time, parents should not expect the coverage. It is important to understand that not all problems and conditions are suited for phone therapy and that referrals may be made to other practitioners or facilities for in-person treatment when the intake counselor OR after sessions where the licensed professional may deem this to be more appropriate. This may occur after the initial session or after it becomes appar-ent to the counselor that more intensive treatment may be warranted.
Your licensed professional or counselor during phone therapy may inform you of basic information related to his/her practices. For example, this may include exceptions to confidentiality, his/her avail-ability and what to do in case of emergency, information pertaining to his/her education, training, experience and theoretical orientation.
Professionals practicing under Parent Help Live are required to report suspected child abuse or neglect. They will likely be required to break confidentiality when parents are in such a mental or emo-tional condition as to be a danger to himself or herself or others.
